Work for Monday 30th March 2020
This week will be split between e-learning (today and Thursday) and live learning via Microsoft Teams (Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday).

This week our main focus is on film history and the last two main film movements that we will study - we are going to handle them together.

Your task today is to consider the study question below. Decide HOW you will go about researching and answering the question. Which sources will you use?  Are there any key books or documentaries on these topics? Which two films will you investigate as case studies? How will you present your work once the investigation is over?

You don't have to complete the investigation today - there's not enough time.
But you need to research HOW you will go about this task. Find articles, sources and various materials that you can read/watch later in order to complete the investigation.

This is an open-ended task and YOU need to decide how you're going to solve it. Today, work on the methodology of how you will complete the investigation - prepare to tell me at the start of tomorrow's e-learning lesson HOW you intend to complete the task. You should put your main points into a slideshow or document - only 2-3 slides are expected, but these should help illustrate your intentions and decisions.

TODAY'S TIMELINE:
40 mins researching
10-15 mins putting your document together in a simple form.

THE STUDY TASK:
Explain how the films of the French New Wave (also known as the Nouvelle Vague) influenced the New Hollywood era.
Use one film from each of these two movements to demonstrate the connections.

Expectations for your brief talk tomorrow: Explain which sources are available, what you need to look into and learn more about, and which two films would make a good pair for your case study.
